Know Commerce City’s past to know its future

For centuries, museums have played an integral role in preserving the history of our society. Exhibits tell us stories about how our nation, our communities and how our cultures came to be and without them, those stories could be forgotten. Museums serve our communities in a multitude of ways, to include:

  • Having a gathering place to go and learn about the city.

  • Museums possess what the classroom may not.

  • The materials and information create an experience that is memorable.

  • The collections within a museum are a significant resource to the community.

  • To see and read stories and memorabilia with your own eyes creates a memorable experience.

  • A place to share stories and to bring your family history.

The Commerce City Museum is located at 6505 east 60th Avenue. We are inviting all to visit and learn the Commerce City History.

Without knowing the past you lose your path to the future. We are standing on the shoulders of those who made the way for us in Commerce City. Come and learn about them so you can create your own future.

The hours are from 10am to 2pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Tuesday and Thursday are open by appointment.
